Just tried updating my iOS on iPhone XS recently and stuck with a completely unusable state.
How This Problem Started?
I was seeing no cell data coverage on my iPhone XS in last couple of days.
I tried upgrading the iOS. My iPhone was connected to the charger while doing the upgrade.
The phone update was downloaded and it got stuck during upgrade. It was on apple logo for long time and never moved past half progress for long time.
Tried Restore to Factory Settings Using iTunes
The restore to factory setting option was suggested by iTunes, this warned me of data loss, but I still proceeded since this brick was useless anyways.
Unfortunately, iTunes factory restore also failed.

Upgrade did not help. The same errors were shown on different looking error dialogs.
The Phone is Not Recoverable Now
Apple phone support said they can not give appointment to me. Due to COVID-19 availability is very poor for upcoming 6 months.
The mail repair requires upfront payment of full device price that is pointless so I would rather trash this device and get new one.
May be android this time?
Beware of Recovery Apps from other online providers and YouTubers. Most of them are scam and hard to validate. It may cause even more trouble to other devices like MAC / PC. I tried REIT and few others — non of them worked.
